Patricia Kay Ledford, 72, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, May 6,2018.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late James Dwight Holbrook and Gladys Tallent Bateman. She was also preceded in death by her step dad, Clyde Bateman. Kay retired from the Macon County School system. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was director of the ladies group. She lived for her grandchildren and family gatherings.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dearl Ledford; four children, Stephanie O'Neil (Glen), Brandon Ledford (Donna), Derrah Kiser (Johnny) and Bethany Virga (Mike) all of Franklin; two brothers, Dennis Holbrook (Claudia) of Forest Hills, TX and Gary Holbrook of Kennedale, TX; sister, Jill Holbrook (Lura) of Tucson, AZ; nine grandchildren, Kaylee Marsengill, Madison O'Neil, Braden Ledford, Jared Ledford, Charidy Ledford, Alauna Kiser, A.J. Virga, Maryle Sands and Michael Mannion; two great grandchildren, Ellis Barrett and Abraham Marsengill; step mother, June Holbrook of Arlington, TX and adopted family, Ralph Morgan of Lexington, KY, Rod Smith, Greg Crisp, April Tallent, Jamie Fletcher and Dawn Spivey all of Franklin.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 142 Pleasant Hill Road, Franklin, NC 28734. Revs. Josh Brooks, Justin Harrell and Johnny Lee will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8th , at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steve Tallent, Nick Fouts, David McConnell, Lee Marsengill, Sandy Keener and Holly Bradley.

PHD Ladies group will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
