Osie Lee Jackson, Jr., 79, of Franklin, passed away, Monday, January 14, 2013.
Born in Gainesville, FL, he was the son of the late Osie Lee Jackson, Sr. and Mildred Louise Barker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dean Jackson and a sister, Laura Mae Jackson. Osie was a US Air Force veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He worked as a part-time actor, promoter and manager in the entertainment industry; working with many well-known actors, including Elvis Pressley, Liberace, Olivia Newton-John, Charlie Rich, JD Sumner & The Stamps and the Blackwood Quartet. Osie was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He enjoyed country and gospel music and working on computers. He was Mormon by faith.
Osie is survived by five children, Mitchell Harvard Jackson of Franklin, Daniel Lee Jackson of Athens, GA, Susan Marsha Whitfield of Franklin, Marshall Rex Jackson of Tifton, GA and Lonnie Gene Jackson of Daytona, FL; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Matthew Scott will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
