Oliatta Virginia Potts Angel, 86, of Franklin, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2007.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Potts and Virgie Bryant Potts. She was married to the late Elbert E. Angel for 67 years who died December 12, 2002 and was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Higdon and a son-in-law, Larry Ranta. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the W.M.U. Oliatta and her husband owned and operated Angel Monuments.

She is survived by three children, Nancy Russell and husband Sutton of Franklin, Alice Owens and husband Harry of Boone Grove, Indiana and Elbert "Bud" Angel, Jr. of Nantahala; two brothers, Jerry Potts of Pittsburgh, PA and Larry Potts of Watkinsville, GA; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Grubb will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Ranta, Chuck Tallent, Gabe Hofrichter, Jordan Tallent, Toby Blanton, Bill Vitatoe, Josh Blanton and Lyman Bryant.

Memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Home, C/O Lewis Smith, 1256 Shope Road, Otto, NC 28763.
