Norma Ann Rodgers Widman, 92, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Mrs. Widman went to meet her Lord on the 5th year anniversary date of the death of her husband.
Born in McKeesport, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Francis Rodgers and Rhea Bell Taft Rodgers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Walter "Wally" F. Widman; children, Daryl Lee Pakkala and Joy Ann Widman; and brother, Wayne Taft Rodgers. Norma was the past president of Macon County Art Association and toured all over Europe with the Officers Wives Club. She contributed to several churches and visited churches all over the world. Norma wrote three cookbooks including, Sharing our Best, and Patton's Pots and Prayers.
She is survived by her three grandchildren, Jason Pakkala of Manassas, VA, Kevin Pakkala of Las Vegas, NV, and Jennifer Prince of Corona, CA; and five great grandchildren, Brett Pakkala, Logan Pakkala, Isabelle Pakkala, Ethan Prince, and Owen Pakkala.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 24 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in the Patton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 23 at Macon Funeral Home.
