Chris Walters, 75, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009.
Born in Alma, Georgia, he was the son of the late Eddie L. Walters and Josephine Mobley Walters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chris Lawton Walters. Chris was a U.S. Navy veteran; truck driver for the Teamsters Union for 35 years; Assistant Golf Pro at Franklin Golf Course; avid golfer and a member of the Jacksonville Shriner's Club.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tessie Hickman Walters; three children, Diane Carroll and husband Alan of Hilliard, FL, Ralph Alan Harville and wife Robin of Jacksonville, FL and Rick Harville of Franklin; two brothers, Everett Walters of Douglasville, GA and Lee Thomas Walters of Lavonia, GA; sister, Juanita Aldridge of Blackshear, GA; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Rella Reese will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steve Wyatt, Mitchell Cabe, Jim McAllister, Paul Rasimus, Nathan Arvey and Mitch Nidiffer.
