Nolan Maurice "Reece" Callahan, 74, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011.
Born in Lawton, OK, he was the son of the late William Roy Callahan and Loma Emma Thomasson Callahan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Goldie Gay Button. Nolan worked for the state of North Carolina with the bridge department. He loved to watch westerns and was a member of Black Mountain Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Debra Ann Snyder Callahan; two daughters, Rita Kate Callahan and Rhonda Michelle Callahan both of Franklin; four step-children, Tracy Jenkins of Robbinsville, Melissa Messer of Wildwood, FL, Jacob Frits of Franklin, NC and Matthew Frits of Lebnon, OH; a brother, William McKinley Callahan of Bryson City; two sisters, Patricia Pritchett and Polly Ann Skelton both of Chattanooga, TN; two grandchildren, Jeremy Luciano Callahan and Johnathan Bradley Parrish both of Franklin; nine step grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26 at Black Mountain Baptist Church. Rev. Ernie Jamison and Rev. William Young will officiate. Burial will be in the Black Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dave Cochran, Perry Jenkins, Jody Mason, Bill Mason, Ebb McConnell and Zack Mason. Danny Mason, Skip Sanders and Jeremy Callahan will be Honorary Pallbearers.
