Neville Eugene Owens, 83, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Born in Rabun County, GA, he was the son of the late Fred Owens and Alifair Chastain Owens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Verlon Owens, Odell Owens, Conley Owens, Onville Owens and Oscar Owens; and one sister, Vera Southard. Neville was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church for many years and a member of Junaluska Masonic Lodge for 60 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Owens of 58 years; daughter, Sherry Ashe (Bill) of Franklin; son, Neal Owens (Pam) of Franklin; sisters, Lilly Tomlin of Graham, NC and Gerstle Dendy of Goldmine, NC; four grandchildren, Nicholas Fowler (Cristal), Evan Fowler, Kellie Owens, and Natalie Owens; two great-grandchildren, Tristan Messer and Riley Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 3rd in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Rogers and Rev. Everette Wilson will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
