Nancy Carter, 90, of Franklin passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019.
Born in Statesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Everette Mayberry and Alice Mayberry Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Carter. Nancy enjoyed knitting and was a member of Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church, member of Daughters of the American Revolution, member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, lifetime member of the Eastern Star, and member of the Smoky Mountain Shrine Gems. She retired from First Union Bank and enjoyed meeting up with the old First Union gang.
She is survived by her son, William Todd Carter of Asheville; her daughter, Jennifer Carter Currie (Dennis) of Franklin; grandchildren, Miranda, Lynee, Christopher, and Kimberly; and six great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, July 19 in Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Eric Cook will officiate.
