Obituary
Minnie "Alice" Dean Franklin, 92, of Durham, NC, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Born in Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Herman Dean and Alma Berry Dean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Franklin. Alice was a retired beautician and was a member of Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Joseph G. "Chip" Smith of Durham and Millie F. Green of Chocowinity, NC; four grandchildren, Alice Smith Dillard of Durham, Michelle Smith Fields of Creedmoor, NC, Tai Green Whitlock of Blacksburg, VA and Zoe Green of Denver, CO and five great grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Dan Lyons will officiate.
Memorial donations can be made to the Clarks Chapel Volunteer Fire Department.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
