Mayzell Vinson, 75, of Otto, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Born in Deer Lodge, TN, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Lee Smith and Gertrude Durham Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Teddy Smith and Ozell Smith. Mayzell loved sewing and cooking. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at House of Hope Church of God. She always supported her church and pastor. She had the capacity to love largely, give generously and sacrifice much for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clinton Vinson; four children, Vivian Rose Pearson and husband Hal of Cleveland, GA, Debra Sue Price and husband Ronnie of Otto, Lorna Marie Gosnell and husband David of Cleveland, TN and Gerald Vinson and wife Renée of Otto; five sisters, Fredia Kleiser of Tavares, FL, Nora Lynn of Eustus, FL, Wilma Kelly of Pearson, FL, Mary Struble of Otto and Becky Dowdy of Alto, GA; four brothers, David Smith, Jimmy Smith, Paul Smith and Billy Smith all of Mt. Dora, FL; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; a number of step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 20 at the House of Hope Church of God. Rev. David Gosnell and Rev. Eugene Moore will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew Umbehant, Chad Price, Brandon Price, David Gosnell, Jonathan Gosnell and Aidan Vinson.
