Maysel Wiles Blue Hazazer, 94, of Franklin, died April 11, 2012.
Born in Flint, Michigan on September 13, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Eliza Blue. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip R. Hazazer. Maysel graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1940 as a Registered Nurse. Maysel and Phil lived in Flint, MI and worked at A.C. Sparkplug during WWII. In the mid 1940's they moved to Fenton, Michigan and then to Bradenton, FL in 1949. It was there that Maysel worked with Phil in their business, Hazy's, selling windows. It was during this time that Maysel's love of travel bloomed, flying in Phil's small plane around Florida, Cuba and the Bahamas, as well as the US and Mexico. Included in their trips was a "Ruby Fly In" to Franklin in 1952. She loved the area and in 1957 bought property outside of Franklin and began a Real Estate Development called Echo Valley. In 1964 they made Franklin their permanent home. Maysel worked for almost 10 years as the Macon County Public Health Nurse. In the early 1970's she then devoted her time to working with Phil in their business, Progressive Building Products and retiring in the 1980's. During the next 30 years she split her time between Franklin and Tucson, AZ. During these years she and her husband traveled the world until her health became an issue.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel P. Hazazer and wife Barbara of Franklin and Kip R. Hazazer of Florida; three brothers, Richard M. Blue of CA, Frank E. Blue and wife Jean of Michigan and Clyde J. Blue and wife Helen of Franklin; four grandchildren, Jonathan Hazazer, Katherine H. Farson, Martha H. Fyfe and Nancy H.
