Matt David Fritz, 44, of Franklin, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012.

Born in Jacksonville, NC, he was the son of David Paul Fritz and Sue Ann Smothers. Matt worked at Macon Middle School as ISS coordinator and was a member of the MMS football and baseball coaching staff. He was an avid sports fan; especially the Minnesota Vikings. Matt will be remembered as a loving son, husband and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Teresa Lynne Fritz; step-father, Tommy Smothers of Franklin; three children, Austin Haverkost and wife Chandra of Owatonna, MN, Chanz Joshua Fritz and Zak David Fritz both of Franklin; brother, Jason Fritz of Winterpark, FL; grandson, Bryce Haverkost and one niece and one nephew.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6th, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 5th, at Macon Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
