Matilda "Tillie" Jordan, of Franklin, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012.
Born in Staten Island, NY in 1924, she moved to Miami, FL in 1943 where she was a devoted homemaker. She moved to Franklin, NC in 1973 where she was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed her hobbies of quilting, sewing, gardening, basket weaving and other various crafts. She also loved square dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward "Buck" Jordan. She is survived by her son, Edward Jordan (Cathy) of LaPlata, MD; daughters, Jeanmarie Elsner (Matt) of Woodstock, NY and Diane DuBois (Paul) of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and her devoted caregiver, Debra Morgan.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Sugarfork Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Madden will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Sugarfork Baptist Church in Franklin, NC.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew Elsner, Michael Elsner and Dwayne Pinder; great grandsons Jordan Pinder, Jon Gantt and Hunter Gantt.
