Mary Nell Shepherd, 75, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011.

Born in Winston Salem, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul Lampley and Hallie Mae Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Lampley. Mary loved painting, crocheting, knitting and enjoyed watching wrestling. She loved her two dogs, Bubba and Coco. She was a member of Tellico Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Earlie Shepherd; five children, Diane Brooks and husband Raymond of Waynesville, Jamie Shepherd of Franklin, Crystal Nix and husband Owen of Franklin, Shane Shepherd and wife Michelle of Loganville, GA and Richard "Kent" Shepherd and wife Betsy of Franklin; three brothers, Gerrald Lampley of Cary, NC, Dane Lampley of Walkertown, NC and John Reed Lampley of Winston Salem; nineteen grandchildren, Angie, Lee, Philip, Andrew, Andrea, Kaleb, Kayla, Hope, Gracie, Matthew, Josh, Sam, Jonathan, Adam, MaryAnna, Sarah, Brent, Grant and Brandon; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6 at Tellico Baptist Church. Rev. Raymond Brooks, Rev. David Powell and Rev. Morris Tippett will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Kaleb Shepherd, Kent Shepherd, Lee Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Russell Hawkins and Brent Shepherd.

Memorial donations can be made to Tellico Baptist Church.
