Martha L. "Margie" Roper, 85, of Franklin, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 13, 2005.

A native of Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James "Bud" Roper and Martha Swafford Roper. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Raby and two brothers, Glenn and John Roper. Margie was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the Electa Sunday School class and served as Sunday School Secretary for many years. She retired after 30 years from People's Dept. Store.

She is survived by a sister, Mae Roper of Franklin and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 16, at First Baptist Church. Rev. Harold Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, at First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Freddie Raby, Buddy Raby, Bobby Joe Raby, Russell Raby, Charles Yonce and Benny Swafford.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
