Marie Cole Mason, 91, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012.

Born in Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Henry H. Cole and Maggie Monteith Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Mason who died in 1992; son, Dennis Mason; two brothers, Clint and Ross Cole and a sister, Grace Cole. Marie was the oldest living member of Tellico Baptist Church, previously serving church clerk and as Sunday School Teacher for young children. She enjoyed reading, quilting and canning and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris Lovedahl and husband Marshall of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Mason of Franklin; three grandchildren, Shellee Marion and husband Scott of Franklin, Teresa Wolfe and husband Rhett of Sylva and Odell Lovedahl of Cullowhee and two great grandchildren, Dennis and Max Marion.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 23, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams and Rev. Morris Tippett will officiate. Burial will be in the Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Cole, Frank Ramsey, Wayne Cole, Ronnie Lakey, Gene Mason and Dane Lakey.
