Marianne Bacon, 87, of Franklin, NC formerly of Zephyrhills, FL passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Born in Harrisonburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Breeden and Frances Macomb Breeden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. Bacon, Jr. She was a member of First Alliance Church, was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading and loved her family and dachshund dogs.
She is survived by her son, Barry Bacon and wife Karen of Franklin; sister, Evelyn Ferrin of Tampa, FL; brother, James "Jack" Gills of Columbus, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Elise Bacon and fiancé Walter Dailey of Franklin and Jennifer Barbour and husband Scott of Fletcher, NC; one great grandson, Elijah Barbour; step grandson, Andy Alligood and wife Holly of Franklin and step granddaughter, Jessica Alligood of Franklin.
Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
