Marian Elizabeth Parker Harrell, 78, of Goldsboro, NC, passed away on May 4, 2014.

Born in Elizabeth City, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cheshire Josepheus Parker, Jr. and Phrocine Mae Latham Silverthorn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col.Walter Murry Harrell. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Marian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a caring and generous person to everyone she met. To know her was to love her.

She is survived by three children, Shelia Harrell Barnes of Goldsboro, NC, Walter Robin Harrell and wife Mardi and Luther Barry Harrell and wife Emily of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Tobe Parker of Washington, NC and Alton "Squeaky" Parker and wife Liz of Texas; three grandchildren, Shelia Phrocine Wells and husband, Kevin, Barry Harrell and Renee Harrell; and six great grandchildren, Daniel, Sean, Brenna, Isaiah, Payton and Ian.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, at her mountain home in Franklin.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
