Marguerite Bontemps Robbins:
Margo will be remembered as a loving wife and step-mother, devoted daughter, caring sister, adored aunt and faithful friend. Born in Sennecey le Grand, France, she spent a year in London in1946 to learn English, then immigrated to the United States in 1947. She was a dedicated employee for Pan American Airlines and loved her job in the Weights and Balances Department. In her retirement, Margo showed her great love for animals by volunteering at the Macon County Humane Society. Through her numerous newspaper articles, Margo placed many strays to thankful and loving homes and was also a valued Board Member. She was very civic-minded delivering Meals-on-Wheels within the community and occasionally giving informative talks about her French Heritage and culture to local school children. Those who loved her know what a treasure she was, a kind and generous soul full of fun with a beautiful smile and great laugh. An animal lover, environmentalist, adventurer and all around wonderful human being, Margo loved and appreciated life and was always fair-minded and ethical in all she did.
Margo is survived by her husband, Don Robbins, step-children; step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and many adoring nieces and nephews, and a brother in France, Pierre Aimee. Margo will be greatly missed but she will be forever etched in our hearts and memories. Au revoir Tatan.
