Obituary

Margie Franks Wykle, 76, of Franklin, passed away Friday, December 29, 2006.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Tillman Franks and Jessie Trantham Franks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four infant sons, R.L., Tommy, Lloyd and Floyd; two brothers, Jim and Hayes Frank; two sisters, Grace and Mary Franks. Margie was a member of Bethelberry Baptist Church and attended Black Mountain Baptist Church. A Godly wife and mother. Not only a mother to her own child, but a mother to everyone else when they needed one. Later in life, she was "Ma" to everyone. Her life's goal was that everyone was fed, clothed, and "looked after." Her hands were never idle. Yet they were never too tired to make a biscuit for anyone that wanted one and everybody did. Countless meals have been prepared by those hands for anyone who came and wanted to eat. When those hands weren't cooking, they were busy making a garden and preserving food so that it would be there for the next meal. Most of all, those hands served out of love. True, deep, love.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Willie Wykle; daughter, Annie L. Clark and husband Neville of Franklin; grandson, Jeff Clark; three sisters, Catherine Mason of Franklin, Lozie Sorrells of Sylva and Louise Adams of Robbinsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 1, at Black Mountain Baptist Church. Rev. Ernie Jamison and Rev. Keifer Ledford, Rev. Jamie Passmore and Rev. Wayne Price will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 31, at Macon Funeral Home.
