Obituary
Margaret "Margie" Waldroop Reece, 103, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006, in a local nursing center.
A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret Allman Waldroop. She was married to the late Frank W. Reece who died in 1964 and was preceded in death by three children, John Reece of Montana, Lucille Reece Hunter of Florida and Bill Reece of Illinois; one sister, Virginia Waldroop Gillespie and a brother, Jacob Waldroop. Margie was the oldest member of First Baptist Church; she was very active in her church and especially enjoyed serving on the flower committee.
She is survived by two sons, J.D. Reece of Franklin, NC and Ed Reece of Asheville, NC; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Ball will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Gary Reece, Brock Reece, John Roper, George Roper, John Waldroop and Adam Waldroop.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
