Margaret Bannister Smith, 92, of Hartsville, SC, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014.

Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Frank Bannister, Sr. and Mattie Tribble Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Leonard Smith who died September 26, 2005; daughter, Emma "Ellie" Smith who died February 6, 2005 and a son, Robert Donald Smith who died May 17, 2007. Margaret was a member of Cowee Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Frank L. Smith of West Columbia, SC; daughter, Jane Privette and husband Jim of Hartsville, SC; brother, Jesse Frank Bannister, Jr. of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Eleanor Cochran of Franklin and Becky Williams of Summerville, SC; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, at Cowee Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Kinard and Rev. William Solomon will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends following the graveside service in the church fellowship hall.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Privette, Adam Privette, Matthew Privette, Andrew Privette, John Chastain and Mike Arnold.
