Margaret Tallent Queen, 80, of Franklin passed away Monday, April 8, 2019.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Tallent and Kate Raby Tallent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Queen; brothers, Charles Tallent and George Tallent; sisters, Dorothy Clampitt, Kathryn Cook and Sarah Henry; and great granddaughter, Lyla Reese Maxson. Margaret was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife from her porch and listening to gospel music. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Queen, Rhonda Queen (Todd), and Donna Mathis (Buddy) all of Franklin; sister, June Carpenter (Doug) of Marion, NC; brother, Don Tallent (Denise) of Laurens, SC; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Brandon Breedlove, Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Doug Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in the Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jamey Mathis, Cody Mathis, David Pangle, Todd Bennett, Mike Fouts and Jim Fouts.
