Obituary
Marceita Sondra Redfern, 80, of Highlands, NC, died Saturday January 4, 2014 at Chestnut Hill on hospice, with her daughter Susan by her side.
She was born to the late George E. and Marceita Skidmore, Apr. 02, 1933, in Patchogue, NY. Sondra graduated from Cathedral School of St. Mary High School in 1952 and received a BS in Education from Tufts University and graduated from the Boston School of Occupational Therapy in 1957. She married the late Rev. Thomas C. Redfern in 1957, and they lived together in Cincinnati, OH, multiple locations in Florida, and later retired to Franklin, NC and finally Highlands, NC in 1995.
Sondra was an active member of Christ Anglican Church in Cashiers, NC.
Sondra is survived by three children: Anne Purpura, of St. Petersburg, FL; Susan White, of Franklin, TN; and Kathy Lindsay, of St. Petersburg, FL. She also is survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Christ Anglican Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date and will be announced.
