Lucinda "Cindy" Hovis Childers, 52, of Franklin passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018.

Born in Gaston County, NC she was the daughter of Willie Kirkland Hovis and the late Raymond Hovis. Lucinda was a loving wife, mother, and friend that treated everyone like family. She was known to take care of all the neighborhood children, treating them as if they were her own. Many of those children grew up with fond memories of Cindy's homecooked meals.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, James Childers of Franklin; children, Amber Hughes, Dana Childers, and Eric Childers; brother, Leon Hovis of Franklin; four grandchildren, Lilly Hughes, Blaze Hughes, Evelyn Childers, and Nevaeh Childers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, November 20 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
