Obituary

Louise C. Darnell, 84, of Franklin, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012.

Born in Macon Co, she was the only daughter of the late Edgar Carpenter and Eula Dean Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, WJ Darnell and brothers, Jack, Edgar, Dean and Robert Carpenter. Louise was the church organist at First Baptist Church and later the First United Methodist Church for many years, enhancing our community's spiritual services. Her thirty years of piano teaching left a musical heritage in our community. Many pianists in the county have been her students. Her musical interests were inherited by her children and grandchildren. Louise was strong-willed, and always full of delightful sarcasm that would always put a smile on everyone's face.

She is survived by three children, Beverly Gallimore of West Virginia, Judy Kirkland of Franklin and Jeff Darnell of Whittier, NC; brother, Kenneth Carpenter of Warner Robbins, GA; seven grandchildren, RJ Wohlman, Kayce Wohlman, Kelly Dean Pilarczyk, Nate Darnell, John Gallimore, David Gallimore and Afton Roberts; five great grandchildren, Obidiah Darnell, Jackson Dean Wohlman, Alexa Roberts, Sophia Darnell and Heidi Roberts and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 6th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. As she requested, the family will celebrate her life with music.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
