Lorene Locklear, 82, of Franklin, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011.
Born in Barbourville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Walter Detherage and Minnie Stafford Detherage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Locklear who died in 2005; a sister, Betty Waldroop and brother, Herbert Hamilton. Lorene was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a faithful witness and prayer warrior.
She is survived by two children, Bill Bowers and wife Patti of Novi, MI and Cheryl Tabor and husband Mike of Charlotte, MI; brother, Charles Detherage of Florida; sister, Mary Flowers of Franklin; grandson, Bill Ballard and wife Shelly; two great grandchildren, Tyler Ballard and Jesse Ballard and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Rodriguez, Rev. Howard Southard, Bill Bowers and Rev. David Williams. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Dorling, Ricky Waldroop, Wayne Waldroop, Danny Flowers, Ronnie Flowers and Robert Maney.
