Lois M. Burton Wink, 76, of Franklin, NC, formerly of Kane, PA and Western NY, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Born in Bradford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis Burton and Hazel Tarr Burton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Willis Wink who died April, 9, 2006. Lois was an RN at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. She was a member of Friends of the Library, Meals on Wheels, Smoky Mtn. Quilt Guild, Western Community Chorus, Church Choir, Primetime Singers and the Carolines. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Franklin.
She is survived by her lifelong friend, Nancy Barr and husband Bill of Kane, PA
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16 at First United Methodist Church. Dr. John Fowler and Rev. Marti Hatch will officiate. Memorial donations can be made to First United Methodist Church, 66 Harrison Ave. Franklin, NC 28734; Friends of the Library, c/o Loretta Holland, 108 Wayah Street, Franklin, NC 28734 or Macon Co. Senior Services (Meals on Wheels), C/O Teresa Curtis, 125 Hyatt Road, Franklin. Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
