Obituary

Lloyd E. Fenno (Gene) 91, of Franklin, NC, died March 2, 2017 of Alzheimer's. Gene was born in West Palm Beach on January 28, 1926. His family moved to Greeley, CO when he was 16. Gene served in the Navy from '44 to '46, then attended Colorado State Teachers College where he was on the gymnastics team. He returned to West Palm Beach in 1955 and worked at the Palm Beach Post in the production department for 33 years where he met many good friends. He married Judy Kuh in 1964. Gene retired from the Post in 1988. In 2008 Gene and Judy moved to Franklin, NC.
Gene was an avid scuba diver and worked part time as a diver for a marine construction company. He enjoyed water skiing and fishing, and later walking in the forest of western NC.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy Kuh Fenno; daughter, Karen Fenno Michel (Sam) of Grove, OK; son, Paul Fenno (Charlotte) of Gilcrest, CO; daughter, Corey Fenno Harmon (John) of Lake Toxaway, NC; son, Quinten Fenno (Steve) of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren, Jason Fenno, Marisa Fenno, Sarah Fenno, Lindsey Bruckler, Carley Earnest, Avery Michel, Jessica Fenno and Joshua Campbell; 11 great grandchildren and sister, Estel Knudsen.
Gene requested no services. The family will sprinkle his ashes on his NC land sometime in April.
