Linda Reeves Dowdle, 66, of Franklin, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter the late Leah Williamson Welch and Bill Reeves and wife Carol of Longview, WA. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Stevie. Linda worked for Roses Dept. Store, Dr. Farley and owned and operated a daycare in her home. She was a member of Windy Gap Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and was active in Our Hands His Heart Ministry at Cartoogechaye Baptist Church. She loved music and had a special love for children.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charlie Dowdle; daughter, Michelle Dowdle of Franklin and two brothers, Rev. Steve Reeves and wife Debbie of Franklin and Rev. Don Reeves and wife Carol of Corvallis, OR; sister, Janie Ray and husband Harlan of East Wenatchee, WA, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 4, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Carson Gibson and Rev. Jason Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Steven Reeves, Cole Bates, Danny Gibson, Ben West, Roy Chastain and Brian Browning. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Windy Gap Baptist Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
