Our "Momma" and "Gramma", Lilla Carolyn Wall Shuford, 88, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Franklin, NC, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 8th, 2013, after a long and trying illness.
Born July 13, 1925 in Marlow, GA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Raymond Wall, Sr. and Martha Virginia Mingledorf Wall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James P. "J.P."; a daughter, Virginia "Jinger" Mullis; a brother, Charles R. Wall, Jr. and two sisters, Alice Wilhelm and Runelle Barrett. She was a retired employee of Belden Corporation and was a very active, devoted member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church and singing in the choir, bowling and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves. She especially missed being able to be with her many Franklin friends during the past three years.
She is survived by sons Jim Shuford (Sally) of Bradenton, FL, and Ray Shuford, (Kristine) of Sarasota, Fla.; two grandchildren, Julie Shuford of Austin, TX, Mike Daughtry, (Catrine) and a great-granddaughter of Jacksonville, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 28th, 2:00 PM at Ridge Crest Baptist Church with burial in the Ridge Crest Cemetery. Visitation will follow in the Ridge Crest Fellowship Hall.
