Obituary

Lester C. Vickers, 91, of Franklin, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008.
Born in Sylacuga, AL, he was the son of the Cape Vickers and Lona Mae Vanderslice Vickers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Mae Cooper Vickers and son, Rev. Michael Vickers. Lester was a US Navy veteran and later became a power plant supervisor for Savannah River Plant. He was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Dalton Stevens Vickers of Franklin NC; daughter, Ruth White of Sylacuga, AL; daughter-in-law, Jean Vickers; four step-children, Charles E. Stevens of Franklin, NC, Carolyn S. Mahan of Muscle Sholes, AL, Albert G. Stevens of N.Agusta, SC, and Ann S. Cloer of Blythe, GA; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and twenty-five step-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2008 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Reverends Charles Stevens, Andy Cloer and Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
