Lesa Roper Gibson, 90, of Franklin, passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

Born in Macon Co. she was the daughter of the late Raleigh Roper and Catherine Dills Roper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harley Gibson; three brothers and seven sisters. Lesa loved gardening, canning and quilting. Her family always came first. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by six children, Doris Dow and husband Joe of Palmetto, FL, Harley Judson Gibson, Wade Virgil Gibson, Dale Gibson Sisti and husband Joe of Franklin, Gale Gibson Thomas and Wayne Stamey of Franklin and Glenda Gibson Hughes and husband Chris of Clayton; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves, Rev. Ernie Jamison, Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. David Lee Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Watkins, Isaac Gibson, Rodney Breton, Mike Overholt, Marvin Grant and Jerry Ferguson.
