Obituary
LeRoy Beach, 66, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008.
A native of Pontiac, Michigan, he was the son of Elsie Webb Shrum of Clarkston, Michigan and the late LeRoy Beach. He was a US Army veteran and a recipient of the purple heart. LeRoy was a classic car restorer; member of the Smoky Mountain Auto Club and a member of the Country Images.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgiana Penland Beach; one daughter, Anita Cook and husband, Chris of Franklin; two sisters, Rita Callender and husband, Arnold of Waterford, MI, and Wilma Dobbins and husband, Larry of Clarkston, MI; two grandchildren, Amber and Cole, both of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. Other survivors include Tammy and Sandy Swafford and their daughter Brooke of Franklin.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday January 19, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Radford Penland will officiate.
