Leonard C. Vinson, 72, of Loganville, GA, formerly of Otto, NC, entered into rest on Friday, March 31, 2006.
A native of Scaly Mountain, NC, he was the son of the late Harley F. Vinson and Bessie McCall Vinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Leon Vinson and a sister, Cleo Jones. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired in 1999 from Shepherd Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Hopper Vinson; three children, Vernon C. Vinson of Charlotte, NC, Victor D. Vinson of Suwanee, GA and Wilma J. Vinson of Cumming, GA; five brothers, Sheridan Vinson, Clinton Vinson and Denver Vinson all of Otto, NC, Louis Vinson of Canton, Ohio and Dallas Vinson of Ringgold, GA; two sisters, Freda Brabson and Martha Rogers both of Otto, NC; two grandchildren, Carrie David and Carra Hand; and one great grandchild, Reese David and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Josh Yother will officiate. Burial will be in the Tessentee Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Chad David, Gerald Vinson, Dwight Vinson, Dexter Vinson, Gary Rogers, and Mark Vinson.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
