Lawrence Edward Robbins, 88, of Franklin, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019.
Born in Swain County, he was the son of the late Alex L. Robbins and Hattie Grant Robbins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jane Dills; son, Randy Allen Robbins; granddaughter, Christy Waldroop; brothers, Zeb Manuel Robbins, Arnold Robbins and Vance Henry Robbins Leonard Robbins and Gordon Robbins and sisters, Birdell DeHart, Della Plemmons, Mattie Nell Elliott, Florence McMahan and Maude Hogue. Lawrence was a member of Tellico Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his blue berry bushes, working hard and going to the Flea Market.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florence Guffey Robbins; four children, Patricia Lynn Waldroop (James), Geraldine Ronan, Judy Ann Brendle and Charles Eddie Robbins (Karen); daughter-in-law, Lynn Robbins all of Franklin; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, at Tellico Baptist Church. Rev. Morris Tippett will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jake Dills, Travis Waldroop, Joshua Ronan, Avery Brendle, Mason Robbins and James Waldroop. Honorary Pallbearers will be T.J. Guffey and Benny Hampton.
