Laura M. Saunders died Friday, April 15, after a long illness in the care of hospice.
A native of Rhode Island, Laura was married for 55 years to the late Fred W. Saunders of Franklin. She was a graduate of the Union Hospital nursing program in Fall River, Massachusetts, and worked as an R.N. at Union Hospital, then at Kaiser Aluminum and Naval Underwater Systems in Newport, Rhode Island.
She is survived by her children, Charles, John, and Sandra Saunders; her daughters-in-law Judith Tate and Julia Saunders; and three much loved grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, and Jacob Saunders. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, John V. Silvia, and is survived by her brother William F. Silvia, her sister Eleanor Marie Wrobleski, and her brother-in-law Frank T. Saunders.
She was a member of St. Francis Church in Franklin. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.
