Kathleen Jaye Stewart, 19, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Born in Sylva, she was the beloved daughter of Michael Stewart and Joyce Bradley Stewart. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving sisi, Jacquelyn Stewart, with whom she shared a special love and bond; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Stewart of Wabash, IN; aunts and uncles, Walter Ray and Joanne Bradley of Sylva, Dowdy and Toni Bradley of Sylva, Jim and Cass Stewart of Naples, FL, Alan and Katy Stewart of Wabash, IN and many cousins, relatives and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bradley and paternal grandfather, Joe Stewart. Kathleen was a 2009 FHS Graduate where she was a JV Cheerleader and was voted most talkative by her class, which she was very proud of. She was currently a student at SCC where she studied Business Entrepreneurship. She loved to swim and in elementary school, she was on the All-Star Swim Team. Kathleen had a passion for animals and rescued three cats and two dogs and would have saved many more had she been given the opportunity. She enjoyed watching redesigning shows on TV and recently redesigned her own bedroom. She loved the outdoors and hiking. Kathleen loved life, was outgoing and brought immense joy to those she was around. She will be greatly missed by family and loved ones. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended First Methodist Church with her family as a child. Kathleen was an organ donor and was proud to announce that she was saved on October 31, 2010 and Baptized January 2, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Buddy Driggers, Rev. Jason Smith and Rev. Jessie Odell will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Bradley, Matthew Phillips, Trevor Bradley, Tyler Bradley, Marshall Bradley, Eric Bates, Casey Hall, Jessie Odell, Caitlyn Capoccia, Marissa Harmon, DeWayne Issacs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Macon County Humane Society, PO Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744, Ladies' Life Challenge of WNC, PO Box 2553, Culowhee, NC 28723 or to Cyrus Bowers' Medical Fund at Macon Bank.
