Obituary
Jenice Rivers Nelson, 88, of Franklin, entered into rest on Monday, July 18, 2005.
A native of Homestead, FL, she was the daughter of the late Gideon C. Rivers and Bertha Aleen Jackson Rivers. She was married to the late Earl Conrad Nelson who died March 8, 1998 and preceded in death by two brothers, Denniston Rivers and Ray Rivers and one sister, Norma Rivers. Jenice was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Methodist Women's Group (Mary Martha Circle), member of the Nantahala Hiking Club and a member of the Bartrum Trail WNC Alliance.
She is survived by two children, Conrad Nelson of Atlanta, GA and Anita Eileen Willis of La Porte, TX; one brother, Robert Boyd Rivers of Ft. Pierce, FL; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at the First United Methodist Church, Franklin. Internment will follow, attended by the family, at the Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Parrish Nurse Mission, 66 Harrison Avenue, Franklin, NC 28734.
