Karen Carpenter, 52, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013.
Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of Martha Wright King and the late Charles King. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte Marie Carpenter; sister, Jackie Blanton and brother, Troy Lee King. Karen was a member of Rose Creek Baptist Church, former member of Otto volunteer Fire Department and member of the Macon County Horse Association. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 34 years, Ronald M. "Pete" Carpenter; daughter, Kayla Carpenter of Franklin; three sisters, Peggy Conard, Mary Moore and Linda Tallent all of Franklin; three brothers, Billy King of Asheville, Bobby King of Enoree, SC and Rusty Jarrett of Wilmington; two grandchildren, Saydie Gates and Kylee Burgess and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Barry Bowman, Rev. Morris Tippett and Rev. Rondal Owen will officiate. Burial will be in the Wright Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bradley, Melvin Wood, Steve Bowman, Toby Blanton, Chuck Tallent and Joe Jenkins. Nephews will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Memorial donations can be made to Macon Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
