Julius B. Swinks Jr., 76, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010. Born in Scottdale, GA, he was the son of the late Julius B. Swinks Sr. and Verlin Martin Swinks. J.B. was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He retired from Mobley Tire Co. and since, enjoyed traveling and running his fire wood business. He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Dowdle Swinks; three children, Judi Swinks and husband Bruce Schneider of California, Teri Swinks Rutledge of Atlanta, GA and Butch Swinks and wife Erica of Auburn, GA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 3 at Turner Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. Rev. Phillip Stout will officiate.
