Julie Nan Miller, 47, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008.
Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, she was the daughter of Brian Miller and Nan Gibson Miller. Julie was the Sous Chef at …On The Verandah in Highlands, NC. Julie had a love for animals and supported many causes for their benefit. She volunteered with Macon Humane Society. She received Cordon Bleu Grande Diploma from Silwood Culinary Arts School in South Africa. She traveled the world and laughed about one dancing with Mick Jagger on the Island of Mystique.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her sister, Beverly Cocks of Port Elizabeth, South Africa; brother, Blake Miller of Vancouver, Canada; devoted companion of 10 years, Annelize Giliomee; best-friends, Chris and Jan Moore; two nieces; five beautiful cats and Winston, her special three-legged dog.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at …On The Verandah in Highlands, NC.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Macon County Humane Society, PO Box 81, Franklin NC 28744.
