Obituary

Rev. Jud Duvall, 89, of Franklin, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007.

A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Gus Duvall and Vinnie Smith Duvall. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Dale Duvall who died in 1948. Jud was a retired Baptist Minister for more than 50 years, he was the pastor of many local churches (Oakdale, Watauga, Oakgrove, Wells Grove, Tellico and Burningtown), his last church was Brush Creek Baptist., Swain County. He was a member of Iotla Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isabelle Roper Duvall; son, Guy Duvall and wife Sandra of Franklin; two sisters, Rebecca Holcomb of Asheville and Verdon Lindsey of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Mickey Duvall and Robin Spivey; five great grandchildren, Derek Roland, Parker Mathis, Michael Mathis, Tanner Duvall and Mikey Duvall; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Jeff King will officiate. Burial will be in the Fouts Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
