Joyce Stanfield, 65, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Born in Old Fort, NC, she was the daughter of Georgie Stockton Lavender and the late Rev. R.C. Stockton. She was an avid Carolina Tarheel fan; loved singing gospel music, gardening and canning. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Stanfield; two children, Darrell Simons and Connie Simons Dills both of Franklin; three step-sons, John D. Stanfield and wife Tammy, Mike Stanfield and wife Christie and David Stanfield all of Franklin; three brothers, J.W. Stockton, Rev. Billy Dean Stockton and wife Verna and Rev. Ray Stockton and wife Shirley all of Marion; eight grandchildren, Corey, Chad, Chase, Michael, Felicia, Ashley, J.D. and Chelsey and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2009 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Corey Simons, Chad Simons, Chase Simons, Michael Contino, Mike Simons and Jeremiah "Bean" Keener.
