Joseph Rescoe Parker, 66, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of T. Carroll Parker and Edna Maye Bussey Parker. He attended Southern Illinois University and graduated with degree in child education. He was a Lieutenant with the US Navy and was awarded five Navy-Air medals, National Defense Ribbon and ten Vietnam Air medals. Joseph loved God, reading Christian literature and his family. He was a member of Franklin Covenant Church.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandi Parker; son and daughter-in-love, David and Leslie Parker of Lehigh, FL; daughter, Margaret Veltman of Lehigh, FL; son and daughter-in-love, Joseph and Michelle Parker of Franklin; son, Thomas Parker of Lehigh, FL; daughter and son-in-love, Frani and Benny Roman of Cape Coral, FL; son and daughter-in-love, Jonathan and Ashley Parker of Franklin; son and daughter-in-love, Brent and Katherine Lannon; daughter and son-in-love, Lori and Jamie Correa of Franklin; two sisters, Jencye Stallman of Paso Robles, CA and Maxcine Mahn of Ft. Myers, FL; fifteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life was held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at Franklin Covenant Church. Pastor John Makinson officiated.

Friends provided a dinner for family and friends prior to the service from 6-7:00 p.m.

Macon Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
