Joseph "Joe" E. Kilpatrick, 74, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Elizabeth House following a brief illness. He was a son of the late Onie and Annie Brackett Kilpatrick. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Libby, Edna and Louise; and a brother, Onie "Jr.".

Joe was the owner of Kilpatrick's Janitorial Service for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, kids and grandchildren. He was the family comforter and the "Rock" that everyone could lean on. Along with playing the guitar and singing he greatly enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Genell Kilpatrick; daughter, Sherry Conley (Bruce) of Franklin; sons, Joe Jr. (Thia) of Mills River, Bill (Vicki) of Hendersonville, Bobby of Hendersonville, and Wayne Creson (whom he considered a son); grandchildren, Justin Conley, Kaitlyn, Chelsey, Colby, Kendall and Auston Kilpatrick; brother, Butch Kilpatrick; sisters, Alma Frady, Effie Stamey, Pat Fraederich (Wayne); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, December 20, 2015 in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Dr. Robert Hefner officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 in the chapel. Burial will follow in the park.
