Johnny Virgil Rice, 66, of Franklin went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2019. He was born in Macon County to the late Virgil and Katherine Rice. Johnny enjoyed being with his family. In addition, he loved fishing, his dogs, and feeding the deer around his home.

He is survived by his soulmate, Joyce Rice of 46 years. In addition, he is survived by two sons, Tony Rice (Tammy) and Jacky Rice (Tonya); three grandchildren, Hunter Rice, Haidyn Rice, and Harley Rice; three sisters. Pat Rice Ensley, Carolyn Rice Nohria, Audrey Rice Clark, Christy Rice Armstrong (Johnny) and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny is also survived by two special companions, his dogs Bo and Bartow.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the home of Johnny Rice on August 31, 2019. Friends and family are invited to join the family at 11:00am at 3571 Rose Creek Road, Franklin, NC.
