Obituary
John Sherman Welch, 91, of Franklin, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009.
Born in Macon Co. he was the son of the late Oscar Franklin Welch and Lillie Ethel Daves Welch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil Welch, Bobby Welch and J.D. Welch and sister, Betty Jane Meredith. He was a member of Burningtown Baptist Church.
John is survived by four siblings, Dixie Bates, Hettie Holbrooks, Charles Welch and Arlef Welch all of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Burningtown Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Stevens and Rev. Mitch Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in the Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bernard Huggins, Don Bell, Terry Land, Bill Simonds, Tracy Chastain and Randy Drinnon.
Memorial donations can be made to Angel Hospice General Fund, 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1648, Franklin, NC 28744.
