John Lewis Thornton, 82, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017.
Born in Point Peter, GA, he was the son of the late W.G. Thornton and Ruby Turner Thornton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. John retired from Delta Airlines where he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and visiting and talking with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Finewood Thornton; daughter, Amy Piccirillo of Eutawville, SC and three grandchildren, Nathan, Connor and Jillian.
