John Howard Stamey, 47, of Franklin, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2005.
A native of Macon County, NC, he was the son of Sherill and Mary Ellen Ammons Stamey. He was self employed in the automobile business and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jane Gibson Stamey; two children, Jessica Stamey and Emily Stamey both of Franklin; one brother, Scott Stamey and wife Cindy of Franklin; paternal grandmother, Grace Stamey of Franklin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Andy Cloer, Rev. Marlan Keener and Rev. Rick Potts will officiate. Burial will be in the Shepherd Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Coleman Stamey, Tyler Stamey, Jeff Tallent, J.R. Coffey, Bob Collins, Billy Collins, Tony Collins and Jamie Stamey.
Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church or Shepherd Cemetery.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
